# Ashley Williams hails West Ham target Aaron Ramsey as ‘unbelievable’

Former Premier League central defender Ashley Williams has hailed reported [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/11/virals-lukasz-fabianski-receives-emotional-international-send-off/) target, [Aaron Ramsey](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/09/virals-west-ham-target-aaron-ramsey-faces-potential-future-teammates/), as ‘unbelievable’.

The 30-year-old captained Wales on Friday night as the home nation earned a credible [2-2](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12098/12429235/czech-republic-2-2-wales-dan-james-equaliser-keeps-wales-in-hunt-for-world-cup-play-off) draw against a Czech Republic side containing Alex Kral and Tomas Soucek.

> Unbelievable performance. There were question marks over how long he could play. What’s his fitness like. He was up and down the pitch all game. I think he really made a difference. He just calmed the game down. He dictated play from midfield and scored a really good goal. Hopefully, from Wales’ perspective, he can get his fitness right, recover from that game to go again and do it on Monday night.

Ramsey earned an impressive [7.10 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aaron-ramsey/23571) on the night, often getting the better of both Soucek and Kral.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Recent [international displays](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aaron-ramsey/23571) have certainly proven that Ramsey still has plenty to offer at the elite level.

However, the question remains as to whether the [Welshman](https://www.skysports.com/aaron-ramsey) is needed in the Hammers’ squad.

Already blessed with Soucek, Kral, Declan Rice and Mark Noble in the [midfield department](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad), spending money on another option seems wasteful.
