# Virals: West Ham target Aaron Ramsey faces potential future teammates

In the week [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/08/virals-west-ham-reportedly-lining-up-move-for-italy-star-andrea-belotti/) were once again linked with offering Juventus midfielder [Aaron Ramsey](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/16/west-ham-in-the-front-row-for-aaron-ramsey-transfer/) a route back to the Premier League, the Welshman faced two current Irons.

The Hammers have reportedly been [interested](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/west-ham-aaron-ramsey-transfer-20840751) in the experienced 30-year-old since the summer and could look to reignite their admiration in January.

That’s according to a report from [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/caos-ramsey-tra-accuse-e-uno-stipendio-insostenibile-la-juve-cer-68986) claiming that the East London club have made ‘tentative contact’ regarding the midfielder.

Amidst the interest, Ramsey [lined up against](https://twitter.com/5liveSport/status/1446529114157064244) West Ham duo and potential future teammates, Tomas Soucek and Alex Kral as Wales earned a 2-2 draw against the Czech Republic.

The [67 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/nationalmannschaft/spieler/50057/verein_id/3864) star captained Wales on the night and scored the [opening goal](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wales-aaron-ramsey-daniel-james-21797284) for Robert Page’s side.

West Ham loanee Kral was [replaced late on](https://www.sofascore.com/czech-republic-wales/cUbsoUb) by Jan Kuchta as the hosts struggled in the absence of another Iron, Vladimir Coufal.

So far this season the vastly experienced ace has only managed [106 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-ramsey/leistungsdaten/spieler/50057) of competitive action in Italy.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing additional midfield options simply cannot be [high on the list of priorities](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/12309377/west-ham-the-summer-transfer-window-and-what-they-need-to-do) for David Moyes in January.

Albeit Ramsey continues to show he still has plenty to offer at the elite level when given the opportunity, the Hammers are [blessed](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) in the midfield department.

Bringing the Welshman to the London Stadium is unlikely to change the pecking order, leaving Ramsey [behind Soucek and Declan Rice](https://talksport.com/football/945440/rice-soucek-man-utd-west-ham-premier-league/) and therefore not in a dissimilar situation to the one in Turin.

Despite being a more [attack-minded option](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/26820/Show/Aaron-Ramsey) than those in situ, there remains an overriding feeling that any January budget would be better used on a striker.
