# Virals: West Ham ‘consider’ loan move for Luca Pellegrini

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/05/virals-west-ham-keen-on-signing-real-betis-winger-nabil-fekir/) will reportedly ‘consider’ a loan move for Juventus full-back [Luca Pellegrini](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/31/virals-west-ham-want-to-push-through-luca-pellegrini-loan-deal/) in January.

The Hammers were [linked](https://www.tuttosport.com/news/calcio/calciomercato/2021/08/30-84935368/cessioni_juve_corsa_contro_il_tempo_in_uscita_anche_pellegrini) with a move for the 22-year-old during the summer and could return for the Italy international during the winter transfer window.

Irons’ boss David Moyes has been [seeking top-quality cover](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/west-ham-transfer-david-moyes-21345750) for Aaron Cresswell for some time and Pellegrini could be the short-term answer.

According to a report from [Todofichajes](https://todofichajes.com/), as cited by [Bianconeri Zone Español](https://twitter.com/BianconeriZonEs) on Twitter, West Ham could be set to battle Serie A club Sampdoria for the starlet.

The report claims that the east London club represents ‘serious competition’ to Sampdoria for the [one time capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/nationalmannschaft/spieler/346567/verein_id/3376) Italy ace.

A graduate of the youth system at AS Roma, Pellegrini has amassed [£20.62million worth of transfer fees](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/transfers/spieler/346567) during a fledgeling career.

Despite being refused a loan move during the summer, so far this season the Italian has played just [58 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/346567/saison/2021/wettbewerb/IT1/verein/506) across all competitions.

Signing an [additional left-back](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) to cover for Cresswell would still appear to be a priority for Moyes.

The evergreen 31-year-old has made a [strong start](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aaron-cresswell/43443) to the new season but could be tested to the extreme as Europa League, Premier League and domestic cup action comes thick and fast.

With [55 senior outings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/346567) under his belt, Pellegrini would be a worthwhile acquisition to help the squad fight on all four trophy fronts this season.

Valued at £8.10million and under contract until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luca-pellegrini/marktwertverlauf/spieler/346567)), it would appear the Italian has a bright future at Juventus and a permanent switch seems highly unlikely.
