# Virals: Pablo Fornals has backed Jarrod Bowen for a future England call-up

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/04/virals-brentford-join-west-ham-in-pursuit-of-12m-valued-keane-lewis-potter/) attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals has backed teammate [Jarrod Bowen](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/04/tony-gale-praises-smashing-jarrod-bowen-strike-against-brentford/) to follow in his international footsteps.

This comes as the Spaniard was once again [called up](https://twitter.com/SeFutbol/status/1443517900351053828) to be a part of Luis Enrique’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

By contrast, Bowen is yet to represent England at any level despite flourishing for the Hammers since [arriving from Hull City](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51323082) in January 2020.

Speaking to [WHUTV](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/october/04-october/pablo-fornals-we-played-right-way-and-deserved-more), as cited by [Football.London](https://twitter.com/Football_LDN/status/1444996220544421888) on Twitter, Fornals suggested that the 24-year-old will warrant international recognition sooner rather than later.

> Why not? Soon, England could make a call for him. He deserves it the same or more than players who are going, so I think if he keeps playing at this level, 100 per cent he’s going to have his chance. He’s trying to score every game and he’s playing a massive part of this West Ham team right now.

Bowen netted a [first goal of the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdaten/spieler/314875) in the defeat against Brentford this weekend, adding to the two assists already achieved.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Not unlike Fornals, the [road to stardom](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/314875) has been a difficult one for the versatile winger.

One a non-league ace at Hereford, the Leominster-born ace now holds a market value of £27million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jarrod-bowen/marktwertverlauf/spieler/314875)).

Given the high [levels of competition](https://www.englandfootball.com/mens-senior-team/squad) in attacking positions, a call up to Gareth Southgate’s ranks won’t come easy. All the Iron can do is continue working hard and suitably impressing.
