# Mark Lawrenson predicts West Ham victory over Brentford

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/10/01/virals-west-ham-plot-move-for-hull-starlet-keane-lewis-potter/) will be looking to cap off an exceptional week with another victory in the Premier League.

The Hammers have already beaten Manchester United, Leeds United and Rapid Vienna in the [last fortnight](https://www.skysports.com/west-ham-united-results) and will be hoping to head into the international break with success over Brentford.

David Moyes’ side welcome the newly-promoted Bees to the London Stadium and could finish the weekend in the [top four](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) if other results go their way.

Writing in his weekly predictions column for [BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58699852), former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has backed Moyes’ men to put an end to the visitors three-game unbeaten run.

> Brentford look lively and have caused a few teams some problems already this season – including Liverpool last week. But West Ham will have Michail Antonio leading their attack and, as good as the Bees are, I don’t see them keeping him quiet for 90 minutes.

Lawrenson has backed West Ham to get the job done 2-0 and round off this [stage of the season](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) on a high.

During pre-season, former Brentford star Said Benrahma [scored the only goal](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/july/31-july/it-happened-brentford-0-1-west-ham-united) as the two sides faced off in a friendly.

Moyes will likely be without Ryan Fredericks for this clash, whilst [Vladimir Coufal](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/30/virals-david-moyes-confirms-doubt-over-vladimir-coufal/) faces a race against time having missed the midweek Europa League success.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

This will be no easy encounter for the Irons.

Albeit a side full of confidence, Moyes’ charges will be [tested to their limit](https://www.brentfordfc.com/news/2021/september/thomas-frank-on-brentford-vs-liverpool/) by a well organised Brentford side.

One intriguing battle could be that between the two strikers, as Michail Antonio hopes to outgun an [in-form](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ivan-toney/290927) Ivan Toney.
