# Virals: West Ham midfielder Declan Rice commits to the cause

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/29/virals-david-ornstein-rubs-salt-in-west-ham-transfer-wounds-on-twitter/) midfielder [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/29/italy-star-leonardo-bonucci-cites-declan-rice-comments-as-euro-inspiration/) has acted to silence talk over his future at the London Stadium.

The 22-year-old has long since been [linked](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9987649/Chelsea-warned-bid-100m-land-West-Hams-England-midfield-star-Declan-Rice-summer.html) with a move out of east London with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United all billed as potential suitors.

However, the Irons on-field captain has continued to [flourish](https://www.premierleague.com/players/15202/Declan-Rice/stats) for David Moyes’ side and leads the charge in the Premier League and in Europe.

Speaking ahead of the Irons’ meeting with Rapid Vienna in east London, Rice was [steadfast](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/20876/12421428/declan-rice-reaffirms-commitment-to-west-ham-as-david-moyes-calls-him-one-of-europes-best-young-midfielders) in his response to any commitment issues.

> 🗣️ "Everyone knows how I feel about West Ham and how I feel about playing under the manager and what it's like playing with the group of players I'm playing with" ⚒️

The [26-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357662/verein_id/3299) England man continued: “I feel you can see in my performances nothing’s up, nothing’s concerning me. I’m playing with a smile on my face, I’m going out there, I’m leading the team. I think you could see a difference if I wasn’t going out there and giving 100 per cent but every time I’m putting on the shirt – I’ve got the armband on at the moment – my only objective is to go out there and give everything for the club and get three points.”

Rice went on to praise the ‘mentality’ within the [current squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) as well as the desire to win all competitions entered this season.

So far this season the combative midfielder has earned an impressive [7.28 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/declan-rice/856714) from six Premier League outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Hammers will certainly be dancing on the ceiling following this interview.

So often linked with an early departure, it’s clear to see that if the side can [keep improving](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/transfer-news/chelsea-transfer-news-declan-rice-19344046), Rice will likely remain part of that.

Another win the [Group H](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/standings/) and a long adventure in Europe would certainly boost those chances.
