# Virals: West Ham ‘among options’ for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/24/don-hutchinson-hails-west-ham-forward-jarrod-bowen-on-twitter/) have been named among the potential clubs to make a sensational move for Arsenal striker [Alexandre Lacazette](https://readarsenal.com/2020/09/24/arsenal-could-sell-lacazette-to-raise-funds-for-aouar/).

The Frenchman is [out of contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/profil/spieler/93720) next summer and looks unlikely to extend what will be a five-year spell at the Emirates Stadium.

Signed for a then Gunners’ club-record deal rising to £52million in 2017 ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/10938137/alexandre-lacazette-completes-arsenal-move)), Lacazette has scored [67 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/93720) in 173 outings for the North London club.

According to a report from [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/arsenal-transfer-news-alexandre-lacazette-contract-west-ham-lyon), as cited by [CPFC Transfers HQ](https://twitter.com/CPFCtransfersHQ/status/1441031703686836229) on Twitter, West Ham are in the mix, alongside Crystal Palace and Lyon to sign the 30-year-old.

The report claims Mikel Arteta could attempt to sell the [16 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/nationalmannschaft/spieler/93720/verein_id/3377) ace in January for a cut-price fee to avoid losing him for free months later.

So far this season the frontman has [scored twice](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/leistungsdaten/spieler/93720) in three appearances – albeit only featuring in [31 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/93720/saison/2021/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/11) of Premier League action.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing Lacazette would certainly offer [David Moyes’ side](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) an additional goal threat.

A natural goalscorer throughout a distinguished career, the [2014/15 Ligue 1 top marksman](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/erfolge/spieler/93720) would be a worthwhile mid-season addition at the right price.

Currently holding a market value of £25.2million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/marktwertverlauf/spieler/93720)), any asking price would likely fall way below that fee as the contract expiry looms ever nearer.
