# Virals: West Ham interested in Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/23/martin-tyler-praises-class-west-ham-ace-manuel-lanzini/) are once again being linked with a sensational move for Real Madrid striker [Luka Jovic](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/11/virals-west-ham-eyeing-up-a-move-for-real-madrid-outcast-luka-jovic/).

The Hammers have been [credited with an interest](https://www.footballinsider247.com/pundit-backs-west-ham-to-complete-perfect-jovic-signing-after-major-update/) in the 23-year-old previously and could look to reignite their admiration as soon as January.

That’s according to a report from [Eurosport](https://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/transfers/2021-2022/anthony-martial-given-green-light-to-look-for-move-arsenal-linked-to-luka-jovic-transfer-notebook_sto8551414/story.shtml) and [RM Only](https://twitter.com/ReaIMadridOnly/status/1440669843468865541) on Twitter, claiming that the Irons remain keen on the Serbia international.

Arsenal and West Ham are interested, whilst Bundesliga and Serie A are the favourable destinations for the forward. \[AS\] [pic.twitter.com/2hIZys2dfN](https://t.co/2hIZys2dfN)

The [17 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/257462/verein_id/3438) ace is tipped to ‘begin the search for a new club’ as playing time at the La Liga giants remains hard to come by.

So far this season Jovic, who was signed for £52.4million ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12691/11734671/real-madrid-sign-luka-jovic-from-eintracht-frankfurt)), has failed to score in four league outings – albeit all from the bench and only amassing [31 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/leistungsdaten/spieler/257462) of playing time.

Last term the man likened to Luis Suarez and hailed a [‘classic goal-getter’](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/luka-jovic-is-like-luis-suarez-barcelona-eintracht-frankfurt-serbia-krstajic-3135) by Mladen Krstajic scored [four times and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/257462/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/L1/verein/24) whilst back on loan at former club Eintracht Frankfurt.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Similarly to what happened when [Sebastien Haller](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/08/west-ham-sell-sebastien-haller-to-ajax-at-25m-loss) left Frankfurt, unfortunately, Jovic has endured a torrid time since departing Germany.

Capable of reaching [big numbers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/257462/plus/0/saison/2018/wettbewerb/L1/verein/24) in terms of goal involvements, at 23 there remains plenty of time to get back on track for the Serbian.

Valued at £18million and under contract until 2025 at the Bernabeu ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/257462)), the deal would have likely have to see Real make a huge loss financially in order to make it a worthwhile venture for the Irons.

In need of an additional forward and with [Europa League pedigree](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luka-jovic/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/257462) to boot, at the right price, this is certainly a player well worth attempting to rescue.
