# Pundits disagree over difficulty of West Ham’s Carabao Cup draw

Two icons of [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/23/martin-tyler-praises-class-west-ham-ace-manuel-lanzini/), Carlton Cold and [Harry Redknapp](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/26/harry-redknapp-lauds-unplayable-michail-antonio/), were in disagreement last night as they reacted to the Carabao Cup fourth round draw.

David Moyes’ side booked their place in the next round thanks to an early [Manuel Lanzini](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/manchester-united-west-ham-result-carabao-cup-b1925152.html) goal against Manchester United.

After the match, Redknapp, a former Irons’ manager, was relatively pleased as he [drew the Hammers at home](https://www.efl.com/news/2021/september/carabao-cup-round-four-draw-confirmed-ties/) before Micah Richards revealed cup-holders Manchester City as their opponents.

> Don’t worry, the Hammers are at home. They’ll take the beating. I like the West Ham-Man City game, I think it has the making of a great game. West Ham are in great form and they will give Man City a great game, that’s for sure.

Back on pitchside at Old Trafford for [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/), ex-West Ham striker Cole was less enamoured with the tie.

> Knocked me right off my perch, I was really on a high,” he said. “All of a sudden I saw that… I don’t agree with Harry Redknapp, he said it’s going to be an entertaining game, but it isn’t. It’s going to be a hard game, that’s what it’s going to be.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

There can be little doubt that cup draws don’t come much tougher.

Given all the [resources](https://www.mancity.com/players/mens) Pep Guardiola has at his disposal, even a fully changed side can cause serious problems.

A saving grace for the Hammers is the home tie, giving the weight of home support to the east Londoners.

Having lifted this trophy on the [last four occasions](https://www.mancity.com/news/mens/manchester-city-tottenham-hotspur-carabao-cup-final-2021-match-report-63754959), the Irons will be all out to stop them from making it five in a row.
