# Virals: Ex-West Ham ace Sebastien Haller nets four on UCL debut

As [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/15/kevin-campbell-believes-west-ham-linked-efl-ace-would-be-a-great-signing/) prepare to begin their own European campaign in Croatia, a former Iron has very much announced himself on the big stage.

[Sebastien Haller](https://readwestham.com/2021/04/23/rob-lee-says-sebastien-haller-wasnt-cut-out-for-premier-league/) scored four goals for Ajax in the UEFA Champions League as the Dutch giants thrashed Sporting Lisbon [5-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58577414) in Portugal.

Sold for £20.25million in January ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55576847)), the 27-year-old had struggled to settle in east London following a club record arrival.

It would appear Haller is having no problem finding his [best form](https://www.sofascore.com/player/sebastien-haller/149731) following his move.

A first professional hat-trick on Champions League debut unsurprisingly earned the Ivorian a perfect [10.00 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/sebastien-haller/149731).

Prior to the haul, Haller has scored [four goals and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sebastien-haller/leistungsdaten/spieler/181375) in four Eredivisie outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Well, there’s a turn-up.

Signed on the back of a superb spell in Germany, there was very little doubt the [Ivory Coast international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sebastien-haller/nationalmannschaft/spieler/181375/verein_id/3591) possessed the attributes to succeed in the Premier League.

Things simply never clicked for the powerful frontman and with just [14 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sebastien-haller/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/181375) in 53 Hammers’ appearances, a move was best for all parties.

Now valued at £24.3million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/sebastien-haller/marktwertverlauf/spieler/181375)), there could be a sense West Ham cut their losses somewhat.

David Moyes’ side will be out to show they don’t miss Haller as the Irons [face](https://www.skysports.com/football/dinamo-zagreb-vs-west-ham-united/stats/457414) Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia.
