West Ham’s £27million man, Nikola Vlasic, has the potential to become a great player at the club, after he made his debut for the side in a 0-0 draw with Southampton on Saturday.

After arriving from CSKA Moscow on transfer deadline day this summer, fans had eagerly awaited his debut and were awarded with a 30 minute cameo last weekend.

Despite not contributing to a goal, Vlasic put in a good effort to try and create something for his teammates. The Croatia international looked comfortable on the ball and confident going forward, playing several key passes that should have led to goals.

This was just a taster of what’s to come for the 23-year-old and hopefully he can work well with the other three midfielders to create more goal opportunities in the future.

The likes of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen can all attack ferociously for West Ham, which gives Vlasic good competition this season.

Having notched 33 goals and 21 assists in three campaigns in the Russian League, he has proven that he can be a versatile playmaker in claret and blue. Despite his previous spell in the Premier League not going well with Everton, Vlasic has now matured and improved as a player.

There will be lots of chances for West Ham’s new summer signing to make his mark as a Hammer, as we prepare for a Europa League campaign as well as our domestic competitions.

It is clear to see that Vlasic is a hard worker and gives 110% for his club, which bodes well with David Moyes’ philosophy within the team.

As the season progresses, it is certain that we will see more of Vlasic in a West Ham shirt. His playmaking abilities and tireless work rate will be a big hit under the manager, and hopefully, he can continue to excite the fans and shine for the club going forward.
