# Virals: West Ham confirm new squad numbers for deadline day duo

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/07/carlton-cole-clashes-with-pundit-over-london-rivals/) have confirmed the squad numbers of deadline day signings [Nikola Vlasic](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/02/david-gold-takes-to-twitter-to-welcome-new-west-ham-signings/) and Alex Kral.

The duo were [confirmed](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/august/31-august/west-ham-united-sign-croatia-international-attacker-nikola) as Irons within hours of one another last week as David Moyes left it late to strengthen the squad at the London Stadium.

Vlasic arrived from CSKA Moscow in a deal worth an initial £25million ([The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/31/west-ham-seal-nikola-vlasic-signing-for-25m-from-cska-moscow)), whilst Kral was [signed](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-sign-alex-kral-transfer-deadline-day-b953118.html) from Spartak Moscow on a season-long loan deal.

On Monday the [club’s official website](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/september/06-september/nikola-vlasic-and-alex-krals-squad-numbers-confirmed) and [Twitter](https://twitter.com/WestHam/status/1434893820777336852) account confirmed their numbers for the 2021/22 season.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

West Ham fans everywhere can rejoice and sort themselves a kit for what is sure to be the [most exciting season](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) for many years.

Both midfielders are [aged 23](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vergleich/spielervergleich/statistik/def/spieler/293200&337333) and could be situated in east London for the long-haul all being well.

Often it’s the more [attack-minded players](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/most-popular-players-replica-shirts-11116066) that are favoured when it comes to names on shirts, meaning West Ham’s new number 11 is likely to be a popular choice.

Vlasic is following the likes of Matthew Etherington, Mido, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Stewart Downing and the [ever-popular Robert Snodgrass](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad/robert-snodgrass#Profile) as players to have worn the 11 in east London.
