# Virals: Manchester United ‘remain keen’ on West Ham star Declan Rice

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/07/virals-west-ham-confirm-new-squad-numbers-for-deadline-day-duo/) midfielder [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/04/gabby-agbonlahor-expects-declan-rice-to-leave-west-ham-next-year/) has once again been made the subject of major interest from a Premier League rival.

Having managed to [stave off serious admiration](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelsea-told-abandon-declan-rice-23675521) from Chelsea previously, the Hammers might’ve thought they had secured the long-term future of the 22-year-old.

However, despite [qualification for the Europa League](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/may/23-may/west-ham-united-qualify-uefa-europa-league-final-day-win-over) this season, Rice continues to attract interest from domestic superpowers.

According to a report from [ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/4469580/manchester-united-interested-in-declan-rice-deal-next-season-sources), as cited by [Global Watch Football](https://twitter.com/gwfootball_/status/1435151823682379776) on Twitter, Manchester United are likely to be the main protagonists next summer.

Recent [reports](https://www.90min.com/posts/west-ham-transfer-news-declan-rice-man-utd-man-city-chelsea-liverpool) have claimed that Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have also made contact regarding the [25-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357662/verein_id/3299) England man.

Irons’ boss David Moyes has previously [suggested](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/03/07/declan-rice-worth-far-100m-says-david-moyes/) that it would take offers in excess of £100million to prize Rice away from the London Stadium.

This season the dominant midfielder has registered [one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdaten/spieler/357662) in the opening three Premier League fixtures as the Hammers remain unbeaten.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £63millon and under a much-debated contract until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/marktwertverlauf/spieler/357662)), West Ham hold a strong position of power of Rice’s future.

Ultimately wherever interest may resonate from, the club must demand a top-tier fee for their most [prized asset](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham/marktwertanalyse/verein/379) and cannot be held to ransom.

Should the club continue to advance and in turn match Rice’s [ambitions](https://www.football.london/chelsea-fc/transfer-news/chelsea-transfer-news-declan-rice-19344046) then perhaps the midfield star may remain, although UEFA Champions League qualification could be the only way.
