# Virals: West Ham set to miss out on highly rated Fabio Carvalho

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/09/03/pundits-heap-praise-on-declan-rice-following-resounding-england-display/) look set to miss out on highly-rated teenager [Fabio Carvalho](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/09/virals-west-ham-keeping-tabs-on-fulham-winger-fabio-carvalho/) after showing interest.

The 19-year-old reportedly looks set to remain at Fulham and [agree on a new deal](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9873633/Fulham-fighting-hang-Fabio-Carvalho-18-year-old-Portuguese-rejects-new-contract.html) amidst interest from the Hammers and Leeds United.

Following a [promising Premier League breakthrough](https://www.sofascore.com/player/fabio-carvalho/991604) last season, Carvalho has flourished in Scott Parker’s side in the opening weeks of the new term.

According to a report from [TeamTalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/fulham-confident-of-new-contract-for-fabio-carvalho-teamtalk-exclusive), as cited by [RumorsTransfersNews24/7](https://twitter.com/rumorstransfers)on Twitter, the England youth international is on the verge of making a commitment at Craven Cottage.

The report claims Fulham are set to extend Carvalho’s [contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/profil/spieler/559263) beyond 2022, fending off interest from the domestic duo and Barcelona in the process.

Born in Portugal, the flamboyant winger has been capped on [29 occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/nationalmannschaft/spieler/559263/verein_id/31269) across various levels by England.

This season the starlet has [scored three and assisted one goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263) in five Championship outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Clearly an [exciting](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/559263) prospect, West Ham will no doubt be disappointed to see Carvalho extend a deal with the Cottagers.

Players of the [Portuguese youngsters ilk](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/401385/Show/Fabio-Carvalho) are exactly the type the Irons should be targeting where possible.

Whilst it may be too late for this one, even showing an interest in such a deal is a positive sign that the club are acting in the right manner.
