# Virals: West Ham outcast Xande Silva an ‘option’ for Nottingham Forest

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/31/virals-west-ham-plotting-late-move-for-fc-porto-full-back-zaidu-sanusi/) may have found a potential suitor for out of favour striker [Xande Silva](https://readwestham.com/2020/12/03/west-ham-fans-react-xande-silva-goal-aris/) late in the window.

The Portuguese forward has been deemed surplus to requirements at the London Stadium following an [unsuccessful](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/xande-silva/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/258011) time in East London.

Reliable club insider ExWHUemployee [confirmed](https://www.patreon.com/posts/silva-to-depart-55570402?utm_medium=post_notification_email&utm_source=post_link&utm_campaign=patron_engagement&token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJyZWRpc19rZXkiOiJpbnN0YW50LWFjY2VzczpiOGJmYmZlNy0zZGI3LTRjMGItYTMzMS1lNDViODUyNTYxMmIifQ.4Ud-fpmE2rUQGM1-AlP5Sl_Ti25FSG2agb__FvNUwSQ) that the club are indeed trying to move the 24-year-old on before the transfer deadline.

According to a report from the [Nottingham Post](https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/football-news/nottingham-forest-silva-transfer-maja-5854867), as cited by [Paul Taylor](https://twitter.com/nottmtails/status/1432769696676384771) on Twitter, Nottingham Forest could be on the scene.

Silva has made just one appearance for the Hammers [following a move from Vitoria Guimaraes](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/11457806/west-ham-sign-xande-silva-from-vitoria-de-guimaraes) in 2018.

Since then the versatile forward has spent a temporary spell with Aris Thessaloniki – scoring [four and assisting three other goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/xande-silva/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/258011) in 33 appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Selling Silva to the current [Championship basement club](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/table) would be a major result for the Irons at the end of a productive window.

Unlikely to feature in David Moyes’ plans at any stage of the season, the club would surely jump at any chance to [free up a wage](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/west-ham-united-fc/payroll/) from the books.

Whatever happens, it looks as though the deal to bring Silva to the London Stadium will be another in a [long line](https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/ranking-west-hams-32-weirdest-premier-league-signings/) of poor pieces of business.
