# Virals: Journalist claims Nikola Vlasic to West Ham is a done deal

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/30/virals-west-ham-interested-in-deal-for-salomon-rondon/) are believed to be on the verge of confirming the arrival of CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder [Nikola Vlasic](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/30/virals-west-ham-submit-official-bid-for-cska-moscow-man-nikola-vlasic/).

The Croatian would be the third permanent arrival into David Moyes’ squad following French duo Alphonse Areola and Kurt Zouma through the [arrivals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379) door.

Vlasic has resurrected a promising early career in Russia following a [disappointing spell](https://www.premierleague.com/players/25312/Nikola-Vlasic/overview) with Everton previously.

Now, according to journalist [Daniele Longo](https://twitter.com/86_longo), via [Prime Sports News](https://twitter.com/__PrimeSports/status/1432440209145270273) on Twitter, the 23-year-old is on the brink of becoming a Hammer.

Capped on [26 occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-vlasic/nationalmannschaft/spieler/293200/verein_id/3556) at senior level by Croatia, Vlasic boasts an [impressive record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-vlasic/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/293200) with both CSKA and boyhood club Hajduk Split.

Signed for £14.13million in 2019 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-vlasic/transfers/spieler/293200)), the versatile midfielder [scored 11 goals and assisted five others](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-vlasic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/293200/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/RU1/verein/2410) last season in the Russia top-flight.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing Vlasic would likely come at the expense of any [move](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lingard-james-diallo-transfer-united-21431718) for Jesse Lingard – especially as the Englishman sees a way to the first team at Old Trafford via [Daniel James’ imminent exit](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/30/leeds-close-to-signing-manchester-uniteds-dan-james-on-permanent-deal).

Barring any late, unexpected departures from Moyes’ squad, the Irons would be [well-stocked](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) in the attacking midfield department.

Predominantly [operating from a number 10](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-vlasic/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/293200) role, Vlasic can also play on either wing as well as fleetingly as a central frontman.

Medical and finer details permitted, signing the man valued at £27million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nikola-vlasic/marktwertverlauf/spieler/293200)) for the mooted £24million fee would represent superb value for money.
