# Virals: West Ham manager David Moyes ‘meets’ Jesse Lingard

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/29/paul-merson-lauds-in-form-west-ham-star-michail-antonio/) manager David Moyes has reportedly met with Manchester United attacking midfielder [Jesse Lingard](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/27/paul-robinson-claims-west-ham-firmly-in-driving-seat-for-jesse-lingard/).

This comes following a report from the [Sunday Mirror (29/8; page 74)](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/), claiming that the Hammers are preparing a £15 million bid for the 28-year-old.

Amidst [interest](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1483540/west-ham-manchester-united-everton-jesse-lingard-premier-league-transfer-news) from Moyes’ former employers, Everton, the Scot is clearly attempting to persuade a return to East London is the best choice.

According to [Claret and Hugh](https://www.claretandhugh.info/moyes-to-meet-with-lingard-in-london/), as cited by [Louis (West Ham Central)](https://twitter.com/central_louis/status/1431914088926433281) on Twitter, Moyes linked up with the England man following Sunday’s fixtures.

Lingard [remained on the bench](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdaten/spieler/141660) as Manchester United crept past Wolves on Sunday afternoon prior to the reported pre-arranged meet up.

Last season the [29-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/nationalmannschaft/spieler/141660/verein_id/3299) ace enjoyed a superb loan stay at the London Stadium, [scoring nine and assisting five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/141660) other goals in 16 Premier League appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Surely Lingard won’t be happy with the [apparent lack of game time](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jesse-lingard/205508) once again this term.

Having [sought a move away](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-jesse-lingard-transfer-20656356) due to inactivity, the writing would seem to be on the wall for the Warrington-born star.

Pushed yet further down the pecking order due to the [arrivals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/transfers/verein/985) of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, a late move could well be on the cards before Tuesday’s deadline.

Signing the versatile forward would offer Moyes far [greater flexibilty in attack](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) and could see the previously essential need for an additional striker curtailed.
