# Virals: West Ham ‘interested’ in deal for Salomon Rondon

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/30/virals-west-ham-submit-official-bid-for-cska-moscow-man-nikola-vlasic/) are reportedly ‘interested’ in a late move for striker [Salomon Rondon](https://readeverton.com/2021/08/30/virals-everton-close-in-on-salomon-rondon-move/) before the transfer window closes.

The Hammers could be set to [hijack the Venezualian’s switch to Everton](https://twitter.com/Getintothis/status/1432038105373192199?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1432038105373192199%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Freadeverton.com%2F2021%2F08%2F30%2Fvirals-everton-close-in-on-salomon-rondon-move%2F) as David Moyes desperately attempts to bolster the attacking ranks before 11:00pm Tuesday.

Rondon currently [plies his trade in China with Dalian Pro](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9865669/Salomon-Rondon-Dalian-Yifang-contract-AXED-amid-financial-issues.html) following a departure from West Brom in 2019.

However, according to a report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9935409/Everton-approach-Arsenal-loan-deal-midfielder-Ainsley-Maitland-Niles.html), as cited by [West Ham Fan Zone](https://twitter.com/WHUFCFZ/status/1432305542622494721) on Twitter, the Irons are considering bringing the 31-year-old back to England.

Capped on a remarkable [83 occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/salomon-rondon/nationalmannschaft/spieler/80197/verein_id/3504) at senior international level, Rondon certainly boasts a wealth of experience having made [435 club appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/salomon-rondon/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/80197) across a 15-year professional career.

Recently the powerful frontman scored [four goals and added two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/salomon-rondon/leistungsdaten/spieler/80197) in 10 Premier Liga outings whilst on loan at CSKA Moscow.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £4.5million and under contract until December 2022 in China ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/salomon-rondon/marktwertverlauf/spieler/80197)), it would likely be relatively inexpensive to prize hijack the move to Everton.

Unsurprisingly given the Venezualeian’s physique, Rondon is credited with excellent aerial ability as well as finishing skill ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/25964/Show/Salom%C3%B3n-Rond%C3%B3n)).

For the right price and at an affordable wage, West Ham could do a lot worse than the former Newcastle man as the [backup](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) to Michail Antonio for a season.
