# Virals: Kurt Zouma ‘tempted’ by move to West Ham this summer

Chelsea central defender [Kurt Zouma](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/17/virals-west-ham-still-hopeful-of-singing-chelsea-centre-back-kurt-zouma/) is believed to be ‘tempted’ by the prospect of joining [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/18/noel-whelan-tipped-to-complete-jesse-lingard-transfer-this-month/) this summer.

This comes as the Hammers are linked with a move for the 26-year-old following a [breakdown in talks](https://www.90min.com/posts/west-ham-transfer-news-nikola-milenkovic-kurt-zouma-exclusive) to sign Fiorentina ace Nikola Milenkovic.

Zouma is [valued at £25million](https://talksport.com/football/918364/chelsea-transfers-kurt-zouma-jules-kounde/) by the Blues and the Irons have been unwilling to meet the demands thus far.

However, according to reputable French newspaper [L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/), as cited by [Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1427958159075913730) on Twitter, talks remain ongoing.

The report claims that the [eight-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kurt-zouma/nationalmannschaft/spieler/157509/verein_id/3377) Frenchman has ‘found himself in the midst’ of a transfer battle with Sevilla and AS Roma also keen.

Last season Zouma made [36 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kurt-zouma/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/157509) across all competitions – earning an impressive [7.15 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/kurt-zouma/139227) in 24 Premier League outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £28.8million and under contract until 2023 at Stamford Bridge ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kurt-zouma/marktwertverlauf/spieler/157509)), the mooted fee would represent smart value for money.

Hailed as [‘fantastic’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7629947/Frank-Lampard-turned-offers-Kurt-Zouma-describes-form-fantastic.html) by Chelsea legend and ex-Iron, Frank Lampard, the powerful centre-back would likely leapfrog Issa Diop, Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna in the pecking order.

David Moyes certainly needs [additional strength in depth](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) at the London Stadium and Zouma could be the answer defensively.
