# Virals: West Ham have Divock Origi ‘on their radar’ for closing weeks

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/16/stuart-pearce-admits-desire-to-sign-jesse-lingard-is-an-open-secret/) are believed to have Liverpool striker [Divock Origi](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/13/gabby-agbonlahor-urges-west-ham-to-land-perfect-divock-origi-capture/) ‘on their radar’ as the transfer window enters the final two weeks.

The Hammers are in need of an additional striker before the summer window [closes on August 31](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12257542/summer-transfer-window-2021-when-does-it-open-news-dates-and-deadline-day) following the January departure of Sebastien Haller.

Current, Irons’ boss David Moyes [only has Michail Antonio](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) at his disposal as a senior frontman.

According to a report from [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/08/15/transfer-notebook-leeds-want-patrick-bamford-new-deal-ward-tottenham/), as cited by [Football Extra](https://twitter.com/football_extra/status/1427199583143309317) on Twitter, West Ham are considering a move for the 26-year-old.

The report also cites interest from [Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) rivals Wolves and Crystal Palace as clubs look to finalise their squads before deadline day passes.

Origi was an [unused substitute](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdaten/spieler/148368) on Saturday as Liverpool overcame Norwich City 3-0 at Carrow Road.

Last season the [29-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368/verein_id/3382) Belgium international [scored once and registered two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368) in 17 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Perhaps far from a mainstay in the starting XI at Liverpool, the Belgian forward possesses an [abundance of attributes](https://footballwhispers.com/blog/divock-origi-best-plug-play-striker-world/) that would make him the ideal candidate to offer support to Antonio.

Already a [serial trophy winner](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/erfolge/spieler/148368) with goalscoring experience on the biggest of stages, Origi would be able to cope with the demands of Europa League football seamlessly.

Mooted to be [available for around £12million](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-divock-origi-millions-summer-20616101) as the window nears an end, this should certainly be an option under consideration at the London Stadium.
