# Virals: West Ham show ‘concrete interest’ in Wolves starlet Owen Otasowie

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/13/virals-stuart-pearce-explains-transfer-stance-at-west-ham/) are among a number of clubs reportedly keen on signing former trialist [Owen Otasowie](https://readarsenal.com/2019/11/26/arsenal-join-liverpool-and-psg-in-race-to-land-wolves-owen-otasowie/) this summer.

The 20-year-old underwent an unsuccessful trial period with the Hammers in 2017 before [joining Wolves](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/owen-otasowie/transfers/spieler/511815) as a teenager.

Now, the defensive midfielder is [attracting interest](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2021/08/03/owen-otasowie-reportedly-turns-down-new-wolves-deal/) from east London once again as well as from Club Brugge, Everton, Ajax and Schalke.

That’s according to Belgian news outlet [Voetbalkrant](https://www.voetbalkrant.com/nieuws/2021-08-12/owen-otasowie-staat-heel-dicht-bij-een-transfer-van-club-brugge), as cited by [Talking Wolves](https://twitter.com/TalkingWolves/status/1425895800421470209) on Twitter.

The report claims West Ham have expressed ‘concrete interest’ in the [one-time](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/owen-otasowie/nationalmannschaft/spieler/511815/verein_id/3505) USA international.

Last season Otasowie made a Premier League debut against Chelsea in December before adding [five more appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/owen-otasowie/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/511815/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/543) as the season went on.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

David Moyes is certainly in need of [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) additions as the season gets back underway this weekend.

The New York born starlet impressed last term during some fleeting outings and earned an average [Sofascore rating of 6.78](https://www.sofascore.com/player/owen-otasowie/997835).

Valued at £1.35m and in the final 12 months of a deal at Molineux ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/owen-otasowie/marktwertverlauf/spieler/511815)) having rejected an offer to stay, the Hammers must fancy their chances of landing a bargain midfield option.
