# Jamie O’Hara predicts relegation battle for West Ham this season

Former Premier League midfielder Jamie O’Hara has predicted a difficult 2020/21 domestic season for [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/12/virals-west-ham-target-ellyes-skhiri-open-to-summer-transfer/).

The Hammers are set to embark on a campaign including European football following a [sixth-place finish](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=363&ha=-1) last term.

That added [workload](https://www.bt.com/sport/news/2021/may/no-concerns-over-workload-european-campaign-would-bring-west-ham-david-moyes) will exert more pressure on David Moyes’ squad and could ultimately impact performances further down the line.

Speaking on [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/radio/schedule/), as cited by [mark carlaw](https://twitter.com/mcrugrid/status/1425546150631858183) on Twitter, O’Hara believes a problem could be on the horizon.

The 34-year-old, who made [93 Premier League appearances](https://www.premierleague.com/players/2994/player/stats) during a playing career, highlighted [Michail Antonio](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/20/virals-michail-antonio-destroys-declan-rice-on-twitter/)‘s injury record and lack of alternative as a particular area of concern.

Last term the striker netted [10 league goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michail-antonio/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/104124) and added five assists despite [missing 13 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michail-antonio/verletzungen/spieler/104124) through various issues.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Unfortunately, whilst former Tottenham man O’Hara’s bleak prediction may be overkill, in terms of [squad depth](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) there is certainly a problem at the London Stadium.

Having allowed [Sebastien Haller to leave the club](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/january/08-january/sebastien-haller-joins-ajax) in January, a striker replacement should’ve been lined up with immediate effect.

Instead, we are seven months down the line and on the [brink of a new campaign](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) and still, Moyes must rely on an injury-prone Antonio.
