# Virals: West Ham reportedly make ‘firm’ Martin Braithwaite offer

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/11/virals-west-ham-eyeing-up-a-move-for-real-madrid-outcast-luka-jovic/) have reportedly made a ‘firm’ offer to sign Barcelona forward [Martin Braithwaite](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/30/virals-west-ham-reportedly-very-close-to-martin-braithwaite-deal/).

The Hammers have seemingly been [perennially linked](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/west-ham-martin-braithwaite-transfer-21148764) with the experienced Danish striker and could be finally nearing a move.

Having so far failed to secure suitable support for Michail Antonio and with the [new Premier League season](https://www.whufc.com/fixtures/first-team/fixtures-and-results) only days away, time is running out for David Moyes to replenish the squad.

According to a report from Spanish publication [Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/harry-kane-llave-desbloquear-salida-11980603), as cited by [The Danish Post](https://twitter.com/PostDenmark/status/1425267988840726528) on Twitter, the Irons have made a concrete attempt to sign the 30-year-old.

Capped on [56 occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martin-braithwaite/nationalmannschaft/spieler/95732/verein_id/3436) by Denmark, Braithwaite was [superb](https://www.sofascore.com/player/martin-braithwaite/66471) for the nation during the recent European Championships.

Last season the frontman made 40 appearances for the Catalan giants, [scoring seven and assisting four goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martin-braithwaite/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/95732) across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing a striker before the end of the transfer window has to be viewed as essential having [failed to do so](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/west-ham-striker-transfer-window-19749082) in January.

Albeit predominantly a centre-forward, the Dane can offer additional versatility by playing on [either wing](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-wolves-greater-chance-barcelona-striker-signing-martin-braithwaite-transfer#:~:text=It%20is%20not%20yet%20clear,years%20old%2C%20is%20%E2%82%AC15m.) as well as behind a central striker.

Valued at £8.1million and under contract until 2024 at the Camp Nou ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martin-braithwaite/marktwertverlauf/spieler/95732)), a deal for the [mooted £12.7million](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-wolves-greater-chance-barcelona-striker-signing-martin-braithwaite-transfer#:~:text=It%20is%20not%20yet%20clear,years%20old%2C%20is%20%E2%82%AC15m.) would represent impressive value.
