# Virals: Journalist claims West Ham unwilling to meet Kurt Zouma valuation

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/11/virals-west-ham-eyeing-up-a-move-for-real-madrid-outcast-luka-jovic/) are believed to be unwilling to meet Chelsea’s valuation of central defender [Kurt Zouma](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/04/virals-exwhuemployee-clarifies-west-ham-stance-in-defender-search/) this summer.

The Hammers were [heavily linked](https://www.football365.com/news/pundit-claims-west-ham-should-not-hesitate-to-sign-zouma) with the Frenchman recently as David Moyes looked to bolster the defensive ranks at the London Stadium.

Those talks soon faded as the Irons [move closer](https://football-italia.net/fiorentinas-milenkovic-set-for-west-ham/) to a move for Fiorentina ace Nikola Milenkovic.

Speculation has once again [resurfaced](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-nikola-milenkovic-kurt-zouma-b949959.html) surrounding the 26-year-old and West Ham are perceived to maintain an interest in Zouma.

According to 90min journalist [Toby Cudworth](https://twitter.com/Toby_Cudworth/status/1425145779702968321?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1425145779702968321%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-23232929441584760099.ampproject.net%2F2107302322000%2Fframe.html) on Twitter, there remains a conflict on valuation between the two London clubs.

The [eight-times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kurt-zouma/nationalmannschaft/spieler/157509/verein_id/3377) France ace looks to be on the way out at Chelsea as the Blues [look to sign Jules Kounde](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1475020/Chelsea-transfer-news-Sevilla-Monchi-Jules-Kounde-latest-gossip) from Sevilla.

Last season the star made [36 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kurt-zouma/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/157509) across all competitions and scored five goals in the Premier League.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £28.8million and under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kurt-zouma/marktwertverlauf/spieler/157509)), the £25million asking price would represent strong value for money.

Credited with [strong aerial ability](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/106086/Show/Kurt-Zouma) and a threat in both boxes, there’s no doubt landing the Frenchman would strengthen the ranks in east London.

However, with the [signing of Milenkovic](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/12377255/west-ham-transfer-news-nikola-milenkovic-deal-edges-closer-amid-kurt-zouma-talks) nearing completion, spending over £30million on two players to cover the same position seems unlikely.
