# Virals: West Ham target Nat Phillips reportedly available for £12million

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/09/virals-west-ham-keeping-tabs-on-fulham-winger-fabio-carvalho/) look to be edging closer to signing a central defender this summer in the shape of Fiorentina ace [Nikola Milenkovic](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/09/virals-nikola-milenkovic-reportedly-on-the-verge-of-west-ham-transfer/).

The Serbian 23-year-old could [follow Alphonse Areola through the door](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/july/29-july/west-ham-united-sign-world-cup-winning-goalkeeper-alphonse-areola) at the London Stadium to bolster the defensive department in east London.

However, the Hammers have also been [linked](https://www.football365.com/news/west-ham-make-contact-with-liverpool-over-defender) with Liverpool hero of the 2020/21 campaign Nat Phillips and could potentially still land a cut-price deal for the star.

A report from [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-news-origi-phillips-24716020), as cited by [ThinkLFCTV](https://twitter.com/ThinkLFCTV/status/1424656860007784448) on Twitter, claims that £12million could seal a deal for 24-year-old Phillips.

The report claims Liverpool would accept a structured deal involving payments at a later date for the [7.19 Sofascore rated](https://www.sofascore.com/player/nathaniel-phillips/920393) ace from 17 Premier League outings last term.

Phillips was billed as [‘unbelievable’](https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/burnley-liverpool-phillips-praise-difference-20636363) by Jamie Redknapp whilst caming to the fore on Merseyside amidst an injury crisis – adding [three impressive UEFA Champions League appearances](https://www.sofascore.com/player/nathaniel-phillips/920393) to a coming of age season.

Signing Milenkovc will see the Irons [boast](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) Issa Diop, Craig Dawson, Angelo Ogbonna and the Serb as potential options.
