# Virals: West Ham ‘keeping tabs’ on Fulham winger Fabio Carvalho

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/09/jimmy-walker-predicts-fight-for-west-ham-number-one-spot/) have been named among a host of clubs ‘keeping tabs’ on Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho this summer.

The Hammers are credited with holding an interest in the 18-year-old winger alongside Leeds United, Norwich City and Porto after the starlet [rejected a new deal](https://twitter.com/MailSport/status/1424324547990495234) at Craven Cottage.

Having entered the [final 12 months of a contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/profil/spieler/559263) at Fulham, Carvalho seemingly has a number of potential suitors.

That’s according to a report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9873633/Fulham-fighting-hang-Fabio-Carvalho-18-year-old-Portuguese-rejects-new-contract.html) as cited by [Louis (West Ham Central)](https://twitter.com/central_louis) on Twitter.

Born in Portugal but an [England youth international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/nationalmannschaft/spieler/559263/verein_id/31269), Carvalho scored against Southampton during a [full Premier League debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/559263/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/931) last season before making three other appearances.

Hailed as [‘lively’](https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/teenager-fabio-carvalho-earns-praise-from-fulham-boss-scott-parker/) by ex-Fulham boss Scott Parker, the teenager continued to impress at senior level over the weekend with a [display from a central position](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263) against Middlesborough.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing talented youngsters has certainly been part of the mantra during David Moyes’ [second reign](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/december/29-december/david-moyes-returns-west-ham-united) in east London.

Having already [landing Frederik Alves and Brian Kinnear](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379/plus/?saison_id=2020&pos=&detailpos=&w_s=) under the Scot, attempting to add Carvalho to the ranks would be no surprise.

Clearly a talented individual – [tipped for Ballon d’Or glory](https://theathletic.com/2607327/2021/05/24/fulhams-fabio-carvalho-once-brilliant-at-balham-now-aiming-for-the-ballon-dor/) – West Ham would be wise to remain observant of any further developments.
