# Virals: West Ham ‘interested’ in Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/08/03/virals-west-ham-target-matheus-pereira-confirms-transfer-ambitions/) are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso this summer.

The Hammers are keeping tabs on the situation surrounding the Frenchman as the ace who [turns 27 today](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/profil/spieler/190393) (August 3) ‘fights’ for a future at the Allianz Arena.

In the [final 12 months of a contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/profil/spieler/190393) in Munich, Tolisso could be sold during this transfer window as Juventus also show an interest.

According to a report from German outlet [Sport1](https://www.sport1.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/2021/08/fc-bayern-corentin-tolisso-als-wackelkandidat-in-munchen?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1627886258), as cited by [Lukasz Papuda](https://twitter.com/LukaszPapuda) on Twitter, the Irons are weighing up a move.

Capped on [27 occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/nationalmannschaft/spieler/190393/verein_id/3377) by France, Tolisso was a part of the squad that lifted the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and [played 17 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3072773) in the showpiece final.

A [serious knee injury](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/verletzungen/spieler/190393) in September 2018 has setback the career of the ace and further setbacks meant only [24 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/190393) were possible across all competitions during the 2020/21 campaign.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

David Moyes will certainly want to bring in [midfield cover](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) for Tomas Soucek and [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/20/carlton-cole-believes-west-ham-star-declan-rice-is-worth-100million/) as club captain Mark Noble moves ever closer to retirement.

Once [compared](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/news/Bundesliga/corentin-tolisso-10-things-bayern-munich-french-world-cup-winner-510120.jsp) to German star Toni Kroos, there’s little doubting the [£18million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/marktwertverlauf/spieler/190393) man’s ability.

However, despite possessing obvious quality and a [bulging trophy cabinet](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/erfolge/spieler/190393), now regular [injury layoffs](https://www.bavarianfootballworks.com/2021/2/19/22290899/bayern-munich-corentin-tolisso-joshua-kimmich-leon-goretzka-marc-roca-jamal-musiala-injury) would surely make any move too high risk.

Perhaps as a free transfer next summer, signing Tolisso may be a worthwhile gamble, but unfortunately not with a fee involved.
