# Virals: ‘No resolution’ in Vladimir Coufal contract negotiations

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/27/virals-west-ham-have-made-an-approach-for-clement-lenglet/) are reportedly still in talks with right-back [Vladimir Coufal](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/02/virals-west-ham-ace-vladimir-coufal-disappointed-over-contract-talk/) over a new contract.

The Hammers are hoping to reward the Czech Republic ace following an [impressive debut Premier League campaign](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/april/14-april/vladimir-coufal-our-winning-mentality-growing-match-match) but are yet to reach an agreement.

Coufal joined the Irons from Slavia Prague for £5million in October 2020 on a three-year contract ([The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/oct/02/west-ham-sign-vladimir-coufal-from-slavia-prague-5m-transfer-news)).

According to a report from [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12364763/vladimir-coufal-west-ham-still-in-talks-with-czech-republic-defender-over-new-contract), as cited by the [official Twitter account](https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1419954715031388213), all parties remain in discussions over a new deal.

The report claims that Coufal ‘feels let down’ by the opening offer from the club as West Ham attempt to keep the [20-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vladimir-coufal/nationalmannschaft/spieler/157672/verein_id/3445) star.

Following a [seven assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vladimir-coufal/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/157672) laden season from 34 Premier League outings, the Czech defender earned a [7.38 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/vladimir-coufal/138024) from five European Championship appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £10.8million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vladimir-coufal/leistungsdaten/spieler/157672)), it’s safe to say West Ham have already received value for money on their expenditure.

There can be no doubt the 28-year-old has [earned an improved contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vladimir-coufal/leistungsdaten/spieler/157672) at the London Stadium and David Moyes will be especially keen that this situation is resolved.

Given the unwelcome [uncertainty](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/declan-rice-manchester-united-links-20222394) around Declan Rice’s future, all associated with the Hammers will want clarity on the star names when the 2021/22 campaign gets underway.
