# Virals: West Ham have ‘enquired’ regarding Domenico Berardi

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/21/virals-west-ham-interested-in-west-brom-winger-matheus-pereira/) are believed to have enquired over the possibility of signing Italy winger [Domenico Berardi](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/30/forget-icardi-berardi-man-west-ham/) this summer.

The Sassuolo ace was part of the Italian team that [beat England on penalties](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51198762) to lift the Euro 2020 title recently and is wanted by a host of Europe’s elite clubs.

Irons’ boss David Moyes is hoping to [further improve the attacking ranks](https://talksport.com/football/873149/chelsea-tammy-abraham-tipped-west-ham-sinclair-declan-rice/) at the London Stadium and the 26-year-old is the latest name seemingly on the Scot’s radar.

That’s according to a report from journalist [Alfredo Pedulla](https://www.alfredopedulla.com/esclusiva-berardi-sondaggi-di-chelsea-e-dortmund/), as cited by [West Ham Central](https://twitter.com/WestHam_Central/status/1417631063682265088) on Twitter claiming that the east London club have asked about Berardi.

The report mentions interest from Lazio, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, whilst previously Liverpool and Tottenham have been [mentioned as admirers](https://www.goal.com/en/news/berardi-is-our-symbol-sassuolo-respond-to-talk-of-liverpool/1h6rzro8ymer616z21xcsx4se8) of the 17-cap Italy star.

Berardi [provided one assist](https://www.sofascore.com/player/domenico-berardi/253367) for the Azzuri on the way to Wembley glory following a superb 2020/21 campaign domestically.

Coming in from the right onto a natural left foot, the wideman scored [17 goals and added another eight assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/domenico-berardi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/177843) in 31 Serie games last season – earning an impressive average [Sofascore rating of 7.43](https://www.sofascore.com/player/domenico-berardi/253367) in the process.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £31.5million and under contract until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/domenico-berardi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/177843)), signing Berardi would prove to be an expensive outlay.

Predominantly [operating](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/domenico-berardi/leistungsdaten/spieler/177843) from the right, the Italian ace would ace as fierce competition to Jarrod Bowen.

Without doubt a top-quality performer and albeit wholly necessary to improve the [attacking options](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) at Moyes’ disposal, given the price, position and age, this may not be the ideal solution.
