# Virals: West Ham ‘back in contact’ with Spartak Moscow for Alex Kral

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/21/virals-west-ham-interested-in-west-brom-winger-matheus-pereira/) are believed to have reignited their interest in Spartak Moscow midfielder [Alex Kral](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/03/virals-west-ham-in-advanced-talks-for-alex-kral-transfer/).

Having previously been in [advanced talks](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-west-ham-in-advanced-talks-to-sign-kral-for-20m/) to land the Czech Republic international, interest from the Hammers cooled following a [disappointing Euro 2020](https://www.sofascore.com/player/alex-kral/825740) campaign.

However, the move for the 23-year-old could be back on the cards as David Moyes goes in search of [midfield reinforcements](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) once again.

That’s according to a report from [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-major-update-on-west-ham-bid-to-sign-kral-after-new-talks/), as cited by [West Ham News & Views](https://twitter.com/WestHamViews_/status/1417760920474988544) on Twitter, claiming that the clubs are once again in negotiations.

The report claims West Ham want to land the [22-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-kral/nationalmannschaft/spieler/337333/verein_id/3445) ace for less than the £20million originally discussed.

Last season Kral [registered five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-kral/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/337333) in 29 Premier Liga outings as Spartak [finished second](https://uk.soccerway.com/national/russia/premier-league/20202021/regular-season/r59133/) behind Zenit St Petersburg in the Russian top-flight.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £9million and under contract with the capital club until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-kral/marktwertverlauf/spieler/337333)), signing Kral for anything less than the mooted £20million would be a shrewd piece of business.

Predominantly a [defensive midfielder](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-kral/leistungsdaten/spieler/337333), the Czech star would offer competition and cover for both Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek as well as being able to fill in at centre-back.

Credited with [impressive aerial ability](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/369861/Show/Alex-Kral), Kral would provide an additional threat in both boxes alongside compatriot Soucek.
