# Virals: West Ham see bids rejected for Rangers winger Kai Kennedy

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/20/dean-jones-claims-west-ham-target-tammy-abraham-wants-to-leave-chelsea/) have reportedly seen bids rejected for talented Rangers starlet [Kai Kennedy](https://readbundesliga.com/2019/12/12/rangers-face-interest-from-manchester-city-and-bayern-munich-for-kai-kenned/).

The Hammers were believed to have [made an approach](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/kai-kennedy-transfer-battle-rangers-24570401) for the 19-year-old as Norwich City also show an interest in the young Scot’s services.

Irons’ boss David Moyes seemingly attempted to steal a march on the [newly promoted](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56767583) competition by submitting an offer this week.

However, according to a report from [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/news/west-ham-have-bids-for-kai-kennedy-rejected-by-rangers/XiH3lu9c9qLS), as cited by [Football Transfers](https://twitter.com/Transferzone00/status/1417467261665771526) on Twitter, the advances have been knocked back.

The report mentions a new deal signed by the [Scotland Under 19 ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kai-kennedy/nationalmannschaft/spieler/567150/verein_id/16868) in January that will keep the teenager at Ibrox until at least 2023.

Having [impressed](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kai-kennedy/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/567150) during loan spells with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Raith Rovers last season, Kennedy is expected to be part of the first-team plans for the upcoming campaign.

Manager and Premier League legend Steven Gerrard has [previously hailed](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/kai-kennedy-transfer-battle-rangers-24570401) the winger as a ‘fabulous little player’, after handing the starlet a senior debut in 2019.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Although relatively [blessed in wide areas](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) at the London Stadium, signing young up and coming talent is always an exciting prospect for supporters.

Furthermore, Gerrard’s comments and a reluctance to part ways would suggest Kennedy is [indeed a gem](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kai-kennedy/transfers/spieler/567150) and West Ham may not be ending their pursuit just yet.
