# Virals: Martin Braithwaite ‘seduced’ by West Ham transfer prospects

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/19/noel-whelan-endorses-west-ham-move-for-liverpool-striker-divock-origi/) are desperately seeking a striker this summer in order to offer competition and potential respite to [Michail Antonio](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/20/virals-michail-antonio-destroys-declan-rice-on-twitter/).

Following the [departure of Sebastien Haller](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jan/08/west-ham-sell-sebastien-haller-to-ajax-at-25m-loss) to Ajax in January, David Moyes will be reticent to head into the new season without adequately replacing the Ivorian.

This had led to a number of potential targets and links with all and sundry, [including](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9720553/Barcelona-Martin-Braithwaite-chased-West-Ham-Brighton-Burnley-Norwich.html) Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite.

Now, according to Spanish outlet [Sport](https://www.sport.es/en/news/barca/the-transfer-that-could-pave-the-way-for-braithwaite-to-join-the-premier-league-11918590), as cited by [Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1417041323945861121) on Twitter, the 30-year-old Danish ace has set out his preferred destination.

It’s claimed that there has been interest forthcoming from Brighton whilst [reports](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-wolves-greater-chance-barcelona-striker-signing-martin-braithwaite-transfer) elsewhere have suggested it will take a fee in the region of around £13million to land the Dane.

Signed under [emergency circumstances](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51570136) in February 2020, Braithwaite has notched [eight goals and four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martin-braithwaite/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/95732) in 53 outings for the Catalan giants.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Capped [56 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martin-braithwaite/marktwertverlauf/spieler/95732) by Denmark and with [93 career goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martin-braithwaite/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/95732) already in the bag, Braithwaite would provide a relatively low-cost reliable option for the Irons.

Having proven to still be of a [level required](https://www.sofascore.com/player/martin-braithwaite/66471) during the European Championships, the Dane would still be a worthwhile acquisition – perhaps alongside an additional, younger option.

Capable of [playing across the frontline](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/73494/Show/Martin-Braithwaite), Moyes would benefit immensely from adding a player of Braithwaite’s quality and experience to the ranks at the London Stadium.
