# Virals: West Ham ‘monitoring’ Liverpool striker Divock Origi

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/16/virals-fenerbache-make-offer-for-andriy-yarmolenko/) are believed to be ‘monitoring’ the situation around Liverpool striker [Divock Origi](https://readwestham.com/2019/01/09/west-ham-keen-to-sign-origi-if-perez-leaves/) this summer.

The 26-year-old is [expected to leave Anfield](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/liverpool-transfer-news-seven-exits-suggested-origi-shaqiri-karius) should offers be forthcoming and the Hammers have been named alongside Southampton, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Rangers and Celtic as holding an interest.

Origi has also [attracted admiration](https://twitter.com/GrizzKhan/status/1414573165913812997?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) from abroad and the Belgian forward could be in the middle of a bidding war in the coming weeks.

This is according to a report from [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/liverpool-transfer-news-watford-winger-ismaila-sarr), as cited by [West Ham Fan Zone](https://twitter.com/WHUFCFZ/status/1415924135365120000) on Twitter.

The report claims the players’ agents are ‘working hard’ to find the [29 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368/verein_id/3382) Belgium ace a new club.

[Described](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/be-the-hero-liverpool-penalty-saviour-kelleher-reflects-on/1cowh8xpgzcj915wfh3d4w43wf) as ‘unreal’ by teammate Caoimhín Kelleher, Origi has been somewhat of an enigma since arriving in the Premier League, producing on the [big occasion](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/alletore/spieler/148368) whilst struggling for form predominantly.

Overall the Belgian has [scored 35 goals and added another 14 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/148368) in 157 Liverpool appearances.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £10.8million and under contract until 2022 at Anfield ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148368)), this summer presents the final opportunity for the Reds to receive anything like the full price for their man.

Capable of playing centrally and as a wideman, Origi would be a strong addition to David Moyes’ squad and has proven to be of top-class ability previously.

Despite only managing [one goal in 17 outings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368) last season, if the Irons can rekindle the ace’s career, similarly to Jesse Lingard, Moyes will have a player on his hands.
