# Virals: West Ham ‘still pushing’ for Jesse Lingard signing

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/13/noel-whelan-tips-west-ham-to-win-danny-ings-transfer-race/) are believed to be continuing in the pursuit to sign Manchester United attacking midfielder [Jesse Lingard](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/02/virals-manchester-united-could-be-forced-to-sell-jesse-lingard/) this summer.

The 28-year-old is wanted by the Hammers after spending a [successful loan spell](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jesse-lingard/205508) in east London in the second half of last season.

Irons’ boss David Moyes has since [openly admitted](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-jesse-lingard-man-utd-david-moyes-hope-b935221.html) a desire to bring the England man back to the London Stadium and it would seem that hasn’t dwindled.

Reputable Italian journalist [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano) has told [The United Stand](https://twitter.com/UnitedStandMUFC), via [Football Transfers](https://twitter.com/Transferzone00/status/1414979775421063170) that West Ham are still on the hunt for Lingard.

The [29 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/nationalmannschaft/spieler/141660/verein_id/3299) ace enjoyed a remarkable spell with the Hammers and helped fire Moyes’ side to Europa League qualification.

Scoring [nine goals and registering another five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/141660) in just 16 Premier League outings, Lingard certainly left a last impression in east London.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing the [versatile forward](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/leistungsdaten/spieler/141660) would delight Moyes, the squad and fans alike given the impact on and off the field last season.

Valued at £19.8mmilion and in the final 12 months of a contract at Old Trafford ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jesse-lingard/marktwertverlauf/spieler/141660)), West Ham would be confident of agreeing a reasonable fee for the ace.

Despite interest from Tottenham and a previous [£30million asking price](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-man-utd-transfer-lingard-22710943), as time goes by and following the arrival of Jadon Sancho to Manchester, the Irons must become increasingly confident of landing their man.
