# Virals: West Ham winger Andriy Yarmolenko wanted by Fenerbache

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/09/virals-west-ham-return-to-charge-for-youssef-en-nesyri/) winger [Andriy Yarmolenko](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/25/virals-west-ham-reportedly-ready-to-listen-to-offers-for-quartet/) is believed to be a transfer target for Turkish giants Fenerbahce this summer.

The Hammers could be open to selling the 31-year-old Ukraine international as David Moyes attempts to revamp the [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) at the London Stadium ahead of 2021/22.

In the [final 12 months of a contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/profil/spieler/69015) at the London Stadium, this summer represents the final opportunity to recoup any of the £17.5million ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/11432984/andriy-yarmolenko-signs-for-west-ham-from-borussia-dortmund)) expenditure in 2018.

According to a report from Turkish outlet [Sabah](https://www.sabah.com.tr/spor/futbol/2021/07/10/fenerbahcede-andriy-yarmolenko-sesleri-shevchenkonun-veliahti-satis-listesinde), as cited by [HM SPORTS](https://twitter.com/HmSporst) on Twitter, the Irons could well get their wish.

Albeit the interest certainly exists, both the report and the Tweet cite difficulty in striking a deal due to the wages and finances involved in taking the [99-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/nationalmannschaft/spieler/69015/verein_id/3699) star to Turkey.

Previously [hailed](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/september/23-september/declan-rice-we-need-drive-and-keep-winning-games) as ‘really special’ by Declan Rice, the left-footed ace enjoyed a [superb European Championships](https://www.sofascore.com/player/andriy-yarmolenko/41116) and could have put himself in the shop window despite a difficult time domestically.

Last season Yarmolenko only managed [one goal and two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/69015) in 21 appearances across all competitions for Moyes’ side.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £3.6million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/andriy-yarmolenko/marktwertverlauf/spieler/69015)), the Irons hierarchy would likely see the opportunity to free up part of the wage bill and a squad space as opposed to any worthwhile incoming fee.

Allowing Yarmolenko to leave and perhaps replacing the Ukrainian with a younger, hungrier version would be a smart move from Moyes as West Ham prepare to [venture into Europe](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/may/23-may/west-ham-united-qualify-uefa-europa-league-final-day-win-over#:~:text=Match%20Report-,West%20Ham%20United%20qualify%20for%20UEFA%20Europa,final%2Dday%20win%20over%20Southampton&text=A%20first%2Dhalf%20brace%20from,for%20the%20UEFA%20Europa%20League.) next season.
