# Dean Jones claims Declan Rice is ‘seriously considering’ leaving West Ham

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/06/virals-west-ham-open-preliminary-talks-over-nayef-aguerd-transfer/) could be facing yet another battle in order to keep their talisman in [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/04/chris-sutton-lauds-exceptional-declan-rice-euro-displays/) this summer.

After the Hammers had seemingly managed to fend off interest previously, reports that the 22-year-old had [rejected two new contracts](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/declan-rice-west-ham-contract-chelsea-fc-manchester-united-b943606.html) have reignited speculation.

Currently playing a [starring role](https://www.sofascore.com/player/declan-rice/856714) for England at Euro 2020, the central midfielder’s stock has never been higher and interest is likely to be rife.

Now, whilst appearing on [The Football Terrace](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnkPmxcekvI&t=290s), transfer expert Dean Jones, as cited by [Football Transfers](https://twitter.com/Transferzone00/status/1412373899862437894) on Twitter, has opened up on the future of the Iron.

Jones claimed that the [21 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357662/verein_id/3299) ace may have ‘had his head turned’ and is now *‘*seriously considering leaving’ West Ham with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool all mentioned as suitors.

Rice has become a leader at the London Stadium and took over the [captains armband](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/357662/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/379) last season in the absence of Mark Noble from the starting XI.

Despite suffering from an injury late in the campaign, the combative midfielder made [35 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/357662) across all competitions for David Moyes’ side.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Groundhog Day for most West Ham fans it would seem.

Despite Moyes previously stating it would take [offers way north of £100million](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/03/07/declan-rice-worth-far-100m-says-david-moyes/) to prize Rice away from east London, this looks set to be an intriguing summer yet again for club and player.

Valued at £58.8million and under contract until 2024 at the London Stadium ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/marktwertverlauf/spieler/357662)), there is no immediate need for the Hammers to further tie down their prized asset.

However, with ambitions rising with each passing display, even with [Europa League football](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/may/23-may/west-ham-united-qualify-uefa-europa-league-final-day-win-over#:~:text=Match%20Report-,West%20Ham%20United%20qualify%20for%20UEFA%20Europa,final%2Dday%20win%20over%20Southampton&text=A%20first%2Dhalf%20brace%20from,for%20the%20UEFA%20Europa%20League.) on the horizon, keeping Rice long-term looks to be a difficult task.
