# Virals: ExWHUemployee confirms Declan Rice contract refusal

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/01/virals-west-ham-offered-nikola-milenkovic-for-12/) have been somewhat rocked by claims midfielder [Declan Rice](https://readwestham.com/2021/07/01/virals-declan-rice-reportedly-turns-down-two-west-ham-contract-offers/) has turned down two new contracts with the club.

Amidst [constant speculation](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-utd-chelsea-rice-transfer-update-moyes-west-ham/167hqew42acsz11sebu85q4f75) linking the England star with a move to one of the [pre-established](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/erfolge/pokalwettbewerb/GB1) Premier League superpowers, the Irons’ ace has reportedly rejected the opportunity to further commit to the east London club.

Currently away with Gareth Southgate’s squad and playing a big part as the Three Lions [go through the European Championships](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/news/0254-0d41684d1216-06773df7faed-1000--euro-2020-fixtures-and-results/), questions over where the 22-year-old’s future may lie have once again arisen.

Many Hammers who may have been looking for a reputable rebuttal have been left disappointed when club insider [ExWHUemployee took to Twitter](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee/status/1410562237928988675?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1410562237928988675%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hammers.news%2Ftransfer-news%2Fdeclan-rice-contract-claims-are-true-according-to-exwhuemployee%2F) to confirm the reports as well as add some finer details.

> Twitter: The information about Rice is true. This is because the contract offers have been below what Yarmolenko is currentl… https://t.co/HUKjkDW2Ib (@ExWHUemployee)

Similarly to the initial report, Ex goes on to say in a [later post](https://twitter.com/ExWHUemployee/status/1410563085639766018) that the club ‘have no intention to sell’ this summer.

Despite his tender age, Rice has become a mainstay in the West Ham side and has already [established himself](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdaten/spieler/357662) as a high-quality Premier League operator.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Whilst demanding wages and even becoming the highest earner can be a little crass, if any player in the ranks deserved that acknowledgement it’s the [21-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357662/verein_id/3299) ace.

Not only a leader by way of performance, but Rice also [took the armband](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/357662/plus/0/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/379) for the majority of the 2020/21 campaign.

Given the levels of interest and the [star’s value](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-rice/marktwertverlauf/spieler/357662) to the squad, the club would be missing a trick not offering just rewards.
