[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/28/kevin-campbell-tips-west-ham-to-land-odsonne-edouard-this-summer/) have been handed a boost in their pursuit of the widely linked with Sporting CP winger [Jovane Cabral](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/21/virals-west-ham-have-reported-jovane-cabral-bid-rejected/).

Irons’ boss David Moyes is on the lookout for additional [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) options this summer in order to cope with the demands of Europa League football next term.

The Hammers face serious competition for the [Cape Verde international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jovane-cabral/nationalmannschaft/spieler/448466/verein_id/4311) with Leeds United, Watford and Southampton all touted with an interest.

According to a report from Portuguese outlet [A Bola](https://www.abola.pt/Clubes/2021-06-27/sporting-leao-quer-15-milhoes-por-jovane-para-fechar-edwards/895716/147), as cited by [Sport Witness](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1409415509683191809) on Twitter, the Liga NOS giants have decided to part ways with their man this summer.

The report claims Sporting are now ready to accept bids in the region of €15million (£12.8million), €5million (£4.2million) less than the previously [reported](https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/football-news/jovane-cabral-southampton-sporting-transfer-4713504) asking price.

During 2020/21 the 23-year-old [scored eight goals and registered another five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jovane-cabral/leistungsdaten/spieler/448466) in 28 appearances across all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £7.2million and under contract in Portugal until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jovane-cabral/marktwertverlauf/spieler/448466)), the mooted figures would be a reasonable fee for the versatile forward.

Capable of [playing on either wing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jovane-cabral/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/448466) as well as centrally, Moyes would be strengthening numerous options with the arrival of Cabral.

Furthermore, beating a host of [domestic rivals](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) to a signing can always be regarded as a positive.
