# Kevin Campbell tips West Ham to land Odsonne Edouard this summer

Former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell has backed [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/27/virals-aston-villa-prepare-bid-for-west-ham-target-tammy-abraham/) to sign [Odsonne Edouard](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/21/virals-west-ham-considering-odsonne-edouard-swoop/) this summer after moves elsewhere.

The Hammers have been [linked](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/west-ham-transfer-news-hammers-leading-race-to-sign-odsonne-edouard) with the French striker previously but it was feared Leicester City held an advantage in the pursuit.

However, after the ex-Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers instead [landing](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1408534765867786242?s=20) another Irons’ target in Patson Daka, the door has seemingly been left ajar for Edouard.

Speaking to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/west-ham-tipped-to-sign-brilliant-edouard-after-romano-update-campbell/), Premier League goalscorer on [83 times](https://www.premierleague.com/players/25/Kevin-Campbell/stats) Campbell, has urged David Moyes to pursue the 23-year-old.

> The word on the street is that they are looking at Odsonne Edouard. I’m a big fan of his. It is not going to be a deal that is overly expensive and I think West Ham have got the money. He’s a brilliant player and David Moyes needs an extra body up top so the deal makes a lot of sense. West Ham cannot go into next season with just Michail Antonio. Edouard is good with his feet, can create goals and his own chances at times. I honestly think that would be a smart signing for West Ham. It is one I can see happening.

In what was a disappointing 2020/21 for Celtic all told, Edouard netted [22 goals and registered another six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) in 40 appearances across all competitions.

Overall the [French youth international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/nationalmannschaft/spieler/344152/verein_id/9323) has been a revelation north of the border, [scoring 83 times and contributing another 37 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/344152) in 168 outings for the Glasgow club.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £13.5million and entering the final 12 months of a deal at Celtic Park ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/marktwertverlauf/spieler/344152)), previous [reports](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/odsonne-edouard-celtic-transfer-sell-24151054) have placed a £20million asking price on the ace’s head.

West Ham may be confident of landing Edouard for less as fears grow of [losing their prized asset for nothing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/profil/spieler/344152) in a years time.

A powerful forward with an [impressive eye for goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/344152), the former Paris Saint-Germain youngster would certainly be a worthy acquisition at the London Stadium.
