# Virals: Aston Villa prepare bid for West Ham target Tammy Abraham

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/27/virals-west-ham-see-10-3m-attila-szalai-bid-rejected/) may face further competition in any pursuit of Chelsea striker [Tammy Abraham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/25/carlton-palmer-believes-tammy-abraham-could-become-a-20-goal-striker/) this summer.

Linked with the 23-year-old in order to bolster the attacking options at the London Stadium, the Hammers could [struggle to meet the £40million](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/moyes-reacts-to-talk-of-40m-abraham-raid-as-chelsea-striker-sees-/1c13ll2qjpooo19jbu27rzlvlp) demands for the Englishman.

However, according to a report from [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/aston-villa-transfer-tammy-abraham-24402820), as cited by [West Ham News & Views](https://twitter.com/WestHamViews_) on Twitter, Aston Villa may instead pay the fee required.

An outcast at Stamford Bridge, Abraham scored [12 goals and registered six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tammy-abraham/leistungsdaten/spieler/331726) in 32 appearances across all competitions.

Previously a loanee at Villa Park, the [six-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tammy-abraham/nationalmannschaft/spieler/331726/verein_id/3299) England man was once [described](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UW87fx9DCk&feature=youtu.be) as ‘unbelievable’ by Jack Grealish.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £34.2million and under contract at Chelsea until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tammy-abraham/marktwertverlauf/spieler/331726)), the mooted £40million demands are actually relatively reasonable.

Signing a striker certainly [remains a priority](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-plan-adam-armstrong-bid) at the London Stadium this summer for David Moyes and Abraham would fit the bill in numerous capacities.

Already an [established Premier League performer](https://www.premierleague.com/players/13286/Tammy-Abraham/stats) with room to develop, the Englishman would provide cover and competition for Michail Antonio.

Albeit a huge expenditure, shelling out the [asking price](https://metro.co.uk/2021/04/28/chelsea-set-asking-price-for-tammy-abraham-as-thomas-tuchel-eyes-erling-haaland-14486056/) for years of potential service could remain a worthwhile venture.
