# Virals: West Ham ‘locked in’ battle for goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/22/virals-ac-milan-trying-to-sign-west-ham-defender-issa-diop/) are believed to in a battle for the services of Fiorentina goalkeeper [Bartlomiej Dragowski](https://readwestham.com/2019/05/22/southampton-join-race-for-hammers-target-dragowski/).

The Hammers face major competition from Southampton for the Polish stopper and could be eyeing up a love for the potential long-term successor to [compatriot](https://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro-2020/teams/109--poland/squad/) Lukasz Fabianski.

The 23-year-old has become a regular for the Serie A side and has continued to perform despite the overall [disappointing performances](https://www.skysports.com/serie-a-table) from the club.

Now the Polish ace could be pushed towards the Premier League as Fiorentina weigh up a move for [Juventus number two](https://www.juventus.com/en/teams/first-team-men/squad/) Mattia Perin.

That’s according to a report from [Viola News](https://www.violanews.com/), as cited by [It’s The Sport News](https://twitter.com/ItsTheSportNews) on Twitter.

Dragowski earned a [first Poland cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bartlomiej-dragowski/nationalmannschaft/spieler/208166/hauptwettbewerb/FS/verein_id/3442) last October, playing in a 5-1 friendly victory over Finland.

During 2020/21 the Pole played [36 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bartlomiej-dragowski/leistungsdaten/spieler/208166) in Serie A for La Viola, during which time the stopper was [heralded](https://www.newsy-today.com/italians-praise-bartlomiej-dragowski-and-announce-a-great-transfer-he-did-miracles-intervened-like-superman/) for a ‘superman’ like performance against champions-elect Inter Milan, earning an [average Sofascore rating of 6.72](https://www.sofascore.com/player/bartlomiej-dragowski/329519).

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at £14.4million and under contract in Florence until 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bartlomiej-dragowski/marktwertverlauf/spieler/208166)), signing Dragowski would likely represent a large outlay from the Irons’ budget this summer.

Apparent links to [various goalkeepers](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-transfer-latest-goalkeeper-pau-lopez-thomas-strakosha) have been emerging for some time as it seems David Moyes is determined to plan for the future of the position.

Some [13 years younger](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/lukasz-fabianski/profil/spieler/29692) than Fabianski, the Polish ace would certainly represent a long term investment at almost any fee.
