# Virals: West Ham facing EPL competition in Youssef En-Nesyri pursuit

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/22/virals-ac-milan-trying-to-sign-west-ham-defender-issa-diop/) are believed to retain hope of signing Sevilla forward [Youssef En-Nesyri](https://readwestham.com/2021/03/03/borussia-dortmund-cast-an-eye-on-west-ham-target-youssef-en-nesyri/) this summer.

Touted as the main target for the Hammers back in the January transfer window, the Irons [fell short of the La Liga club’s valuation](https://talksport.com/football/821406/west-ham-signing-striker-youssef-en-nesyri/) in the pursuit.

However, as David Moyes once again [goes in search](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/news/david-moyes-west-ham-striker-20213339) of a striker, the Moroccan remains a potential target.

This time around there will be enhanced competition as [Premier League rivals](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) Wolves have also reportedly expressed an interest in the 24-year-old.

That’s according to a report in [The Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/) (June 20th, page 43), as cited by [Football Transfers](https://twitter.com/Transferzone00/status/1407249969732489226) on Twitter.

The report claims new Wolves manager Bruno Lage wants to make the [35-cap Morocco international](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youssef-en-nesyri/nationalmannschaft/spieler/433049/verein_id/3575) one of his first signings Molineux.

Hailed as [‘fantastic’](https://africanfootball.com/news/784380/Former-Barcelona-Liverpool-star-in-awe-of-Youssef-En-Nesyri) by former Liverpool star Luis Garcia, En-Nesyri helped inspire Sevilla to a [fourth-place finish in La Liga](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/spanish-la-liga/table) last term – with it ensuring Champions League participation in 2021/22.

Having [reportedly](https://talksport.com/football/821164/west-ham-offer-sevilla-youssef-en-nesyri-bid/) fended off offers around the £27million mark in the winter from the Hammers, the forward finished the campaign with [24 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youssef-en-nesyri/leistungsdaten/spieler/433049) in all competitions.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing En-Nesyri after [multiple failed attempts previously](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-strike-target-youssef-en-nesyri-wants-sevilla-stay) would be a huge coup for the Irons this summer and prove that the Moroccan was certainly the desired option to replace Sebastien Haller.

Valued at £36million and under contract in Spain until 2020 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youssef-en-nesyri/marktwertverlauf/spieler/433049)), it’s going to take an eye-watering sum in order to land the ace.

Whether either West Ham or Wolves have the wherewithal to force the hand or whether En-Nesyri would be willing to forsake Champions League or Europa and Premier League football remains to be seen.
