# West Ham competing with EPL rival for Mohamed Ali Camara

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/18/virals-mark-noble-calls-for-west-ham-squad-improvements/) are believed to have ‘asked for information’ regarding BSC Young Boys defender [Mohamed Ali Camara](https://readarsenal.com/2020/03/05/arsenal-morning-news-round-up-5th-march-2020/).

The Hammers, along with [Premier League rivals Aston Villa](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) are looking into the possibility of making a summer move for the 23-year-old.

That’s according to a report from [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/exclusive-west-ham-aston-villa-contact-signing-convincing-offer-will-see-transfer/), as cited on the [site’s official Twitter](https://twitter.com/Sport_Witness/status/1405524902908547072) account.

The report claims that despite recently [extending a contract until 2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-camara/profil/spieler/426723), the Swiss club could be open to the idea of selling the Guinean central defender were a ‘convincing offer’ to arrive.

Previously [linked](https://www.caughtoffside.com/2021/04/26/mohamed-ali-camara-liverpool-arsenal-transfer-links/) with Liverpool and Arsenal, the [five-times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-camara/nationalmannschaft/spieler/426723/verein_id/3856) capped centre-back has certainly been attracting attention with his form in the Super League.

During a [title-winning](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/swiss-super-league/table) 2020/21 campaign, Camara played 39 times across all competitions – earning a [7.05 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/mohamed-camara/881038) from league outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Valued at just £2.7million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-camara/marktwertverlauf/spieler/426723)), prizing the Guinean away from the capital club shouldn’t prove too costly.

Irons boss David Moyes is looking to bolster the defensive options after Fabian Balbuena [confirmed](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/june/04-june/retained-list-issued-fabian-balbuena-depart#:~:text=West%20Ham%20United%20has%20issued,the%20Hammers%2C%20scoring%20three%20goals.) his departure from the London Stadium.

At 6’3 and with previous [mooted interest](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/player/mohamed-ali-camara/70knbl666fg2kyli67knr5l2h) from other top-flight forces, Camara could be a worthwhile and affordable option.
