# West Ham discover £25million plus asking price for Chris Wood

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/08/virals-robert-snodgrass-lauds-unbelievable-declan-rice/) have recently been heavily linked with a move for Burnley striker [Chris Wood](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/08/kevin-phillips-endorses-potential-great-chris-wood-signing-for-west-ham/) this summer.

The towering 29-year-old has been touted as a possible replacement for Sebastien Haller at the London Stadium – whilst also [attracting interest](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9661051/Burnley-forward-Chris-Wood-wanted-Everton-Aston-Villa-West-Ham.html) from Aston Villa and Everton.

Now, a fresh report from [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/chris-wood-burnley-transfer-news-24265049), as cited by [West Ham News & Views](https://twitter.com/WestHamViews_/status/1402224258579849217) on Twitter, has claimed the Lancashire club could demand upwards of £25million for their frontman were interest to materialise into genuine offers.

The report also claims David Moyes is a keen admirer of the [56 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chris-wood/nationalmannschaft/spieler/108725/verein_id/9171) New Zealand international.

Wood netted [12 Premier League goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chris-wood/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/108725/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/1132) in the 2020/21 campaign, including [one against the Hammers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3429824) back in May.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing the Kiwi this summer would certainly provide Moyes with another ready-made attacking threat.

However, the mooted fee seems out of proportion both with the player’s [£7.2million market value](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/chris-wood/marktwertverlauf/spieler/108725) and the impending 30th birthday celebrations at the end of the year.

Having originally shirked away from Tammy Abraham’s [£40million asking price](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/04/28/chelsea-ready-offload-tammy-abraham-40m-club-plot-overhaul-forward/) – perhaps Moyes and the hierarchy should reconsider their stance on the Chelsea man.
