# Virals: West Ham ‘eyeing’ move for Adrian Embarba

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/06/03/virals-west-ham-reportedly-in-battle-to-sign-alexis-sanchez/) are reportedly set for a transfer battle for Espanyol winger [Adrian Embarba](https://readwestham.com/2020/01/23/rayo-manager-jemez-confirms-embarbas-imminent-departure/) this summer.

The 29-year-old Spaniard is also subject to interest from Premier League rivals Wolves and both newly promoted Norwich City and Watford are [believed to be chasing](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/wolves-transfer-news-embarba-espanyol-20718988) the wingers signature.

That’s according to a report from Spanish publication [Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/espanyol/espanyol-esboza-hoja-ruta-mercado-11787721), as cited by [SportNews365](https://twitter.com/Shpetim21816405/status/1400384329595994115) on Twitter.

Irons manager David Moyes will be hoping to bolster numerous positions in the [squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) this summer in order to ensure adequate strength in depth for the additional Europa League endeavours.

Embarba enjoyed a sublime 2020/21 campaign, scored [nine times and registering 14 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrian-embarba/leistungsdaten/spieler/288318) in 37 La Liga 2 outings – earning an average [Sofascore rating of 7.26](https://www.sofascore.com/player/adrian-embarba/346516) along the way.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Predominantly a right-winger, the Madrid born ace can [operate across the entire midfield](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrian-embarba/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/288318) as well as occasionally featuring as a central striker.

Under contract until 2024 and valued at £6.3million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrian-embarba/marktwertverlauf/spieler/288318)), the Hammers would be forced to delve into the summer budget in order to land their man.

Having spent his [entire career](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrian-embarba/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/288318) in Spain, signing a 29-year-old for his first taste of Premier League football seems a risk.
