# Virals: West Ham are reportedly interested in Dor Peretz

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/24/noel-whelan-hails-brilliant-news-regarding-david-moyes-new-contract/) are reportedly interested in Maccabi Tel Aviv defensive midfielder Dor Peretz when the Israel international’s contract expires this summer.

The Hammers are joined by current frontrunners for the signature, [CSKA Moscow](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-waiting-israel-dor-peretz), in the pursuit and are said to have made an ‘impressive financial offer’ to the 26-year-old.

This is according to a report from [Sport1](https://sport1.maariv.co.il/israeli-soccer/ligat-haal/article/656731/) in Israel, as cited by [From The Anvil – West Ham](https://twitter.com/FromTheAnvilWHU/status/1396863052281040899) on Twitter.

Peretz is expected to hold talks with Maccabi when the [Israeli Premier League](https://uk.soccerway.com/national/israel/ligat-haal/20202021/championship-round/r58920/) comes to its conclusion in the coming weeks.

Capped on [20 occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dor-peretz/nationalmannschaft/spieler/204987/verein_id/5547) by Isreal at senior level, the man who [according to former manager Andi Herzog](https://sports.walla.co.il/item/3376254) ‘belongs at the top’, has scored [10 times and registered nine assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dor-peretz/leistungsdaten/spieler/204987) in 50 appearances this season.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing the [£1.26million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dor-peretz/marktwertverlauf/spieler/204987) midfielder for nothing this summer would be an incredible bargain option to supplement Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek.

[Out of contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dor-peretz/profil/spieler/204987) in just four weeks, Peretz could follow the likes of Soucek and [Vladimir Coufal](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/11/jamie-carragher-names-two-west-ham-stars-in-mnf-season-awards/) as arriving at the London Stadium as relative unknowns.

Saving money on other positions in need of strengthening would also be beneficial to David Moyes’ [imperative striker](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/news/david-moyes-west-ham-striker-20213339) pursuit.
