# Virals: West Ham a ‘possible destination’ for Barcelona goalkeeper Neto

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/24/virals-michail-antonio-takes-teammates-on-celebratory-european-tour/) have today emerged as an ‘option’ for experienced Barcelona goalkeeper Neto.

Previously [linked with interest](https://sportwitness.co.uk/player-decided-leave-barcelona-last-game-saturday-move-arsenal-possible/) from Everton and [Arsenal](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/barcellona-due-club-pensano-a-neto-24850), the 31-year-old Brazilian is now said to be attracting the ‘most interest’ from the Hammers.

That’s according to a report from [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/claim-west-ham-most-interested-in-signing-player-wants-to-leave-club-his-destiny-would-be-in-pl/)), as cited by [Barca Buzz](https://twitter.com/Barca_Buzz/status/1396707054618882055) on Twitter, claiming the Catalan giants could be willing to sell for €12million (£10.3million).

The report claims the [one time capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neto/nationalmannschaft/spieler/111819/verein_id/3439) Brazil international ‘wants to leave’ the Camp Nou this summer in order to seek more game time.

Under [contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neto/profil/spieler/111819) until 2023 in Catalunia, Neto holds a perceived market value of £9million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neto/marktwertverlauf/spieler/111819)).

Overall this season, the Brazilian has made [12 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neto/leistungsdaten/spieler/111819) across all competitions – including three UEFA Champions League outings.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Signing a goalkeeper this summer looks to be high on [David Moyes’ list](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/) of priorities.

Heavily linked with West Brom stopper [Sam Johnstone](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/west-ham-readying-bid-tottenham-sam-johnstone-transfer) in recent weeks, these fresh links cast further doubt on the long-term number one spot currently held by [Lukasz Fabianski](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/24/don-goodman-hails-lukasz-fabianski-as-one-of-the-best-in-the-epl/).

At 36 years old there’s no doubt a replacement for the Pole will be required in the not too distant future, however, the speculation would point towards a sea change as early as next season.
