[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/20/brian-deane-believes-sam-johnstone-would-be-worthwhile-addition-at-west-ham/) full-back [Aaron Cresswell](https://readwestham.com/2021/04/27/virals-aaron-cresswell-returns-to-training-ahead-of-key-fixtures/) made his 250th Hammers appearance on Wednesday night against West Brom.

The 31-year-old was able to celebrate the occasion with a victory and an assist as the Irons came back from a goal down to win [3-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57082274) at the Hawthorns.

Signed from Ipswich in 2014 for a fee believed to be in excess of £2million ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/28148831)), the Liverpudlian has been a terrific servant to the club.

Across 250 appearances in all competitions in claret and blue, Cresswell has scored [eight goals and registered 27 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-cresswell/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/92571) – a majority of which have come from his [pinpoint set-piece](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/october/02-october/why-free-kick-king-aaron-cresswells-patience-paying) deliveries.

Formerly a youth prospect at Liverpool before making the grade at Tranmere Rovers where he played [77 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-cresswell/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/92571), the marauding full-back has also represented [England on three occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-cresswell/nationalmannschaft/spieler/92571/verein_id/3299) whilst plying his trade in east London.

This season Cresswell, who was recently [described](https://podtail.com/en/podcast/u-irons-a-show-about-west-ham-united/aaron-cresswell-hammer-of-the-season/) as ‘sensational’ by Sam Delaney on the U Irons podcast, has made [38 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-cresswell/leistungsdaten/spieler/92571) across all competitions – earning an average [Sofascore rating of 7.08](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aaron-cresswell/43443) in the Premier League.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Few players in the current [West Ham squad](https://www.whufc.com/teams/first-team/squad) deserve the success of the current campaign more than the left-back.

Having battled through some dark times during his seven-year stint with the Hammers, seeing the likes of Cresswell, Mark Noble and Michail Antonio walk out in [European competition](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) next season would be just rewards for their efforts.

Whilst there’s no sign of the ace slowing down in terms of contribution, it’ll be a sad day when he finally calls time on his Irons career.
