# Virals: Michail Antonio destroys Declan Rice on Twitter

[West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/20/virals-declan-rice-calls-for-one-last-push-from-west-ham-teammates/) striker [Michail Antonio](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/18/glenn-hoddle-full-of-praise-for-west-ham-talisman-michail-antonio/) has destroyed Declan Rice on Twitter after the 22-year-old reacted to a post-match interview.

Speaking to [Sky Sports](https://twitter.com/footballdaily/status/1395131050741878784) after the important 3-1 victory over West Brom on Wednesday night, the 30-year-old frontman joked about Rice’s third-minute penalty miss.

After suggesting he ought to take over spot-kick duties following Rice’s miss, the central midfielder suggested [more practice was required](https://twitter.com/_DeclanRice/status/1395132185951318016) at training before Antonio struck back immediately.

Not willing to let the England man off the hook easily, Antonio’s [tweet](https://twitter.com/Michailantonio/status/1395151546535620609) read: “Take the positive with the negative, new record fastest pen miss @DeclanRice.”

In truth, West Ham’s issues from the spot go [beyond the early miss](https://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/news/incredible-west-ham-record-noble-19680692) at The Hawthorns.

Despite Rice being on the pitch at the time, loan sensation [Jesse Lingard fluffed his lines](https://strettynews.com/2021/03/09/lingard-wins-penalty-misses-it-and-scores-rebound-for-west-ham/) from 12 yards against Leeds United.

Without the [ever-reliable Mark Noble](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mark-noble/elfmetertore/spieler/31835) in the starting lineup, David Moyes needs to fathom who is going to take over the mantel.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

It’s good to see spirits remained higher despite the sore subject.

Antonio has proven himself to be an [adept goal scorer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michail-antonio/leistungsdaten/spieler/104124) over the last 12 months – perhaps it’s only right he gets a chance from the next penalty.

The likes of Aaron Cresswell, Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek will also no doubt be wondering when their chance may come along.
