# Virals: Carlton Cole full of praise for West Ham manager David Moyes

Former [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2021/05/20/virals-michail-antonio-destroys-declan-rice-on-twitter/) striker [Carlton Cole](https://readwestham.com/2021/01/30/west-ham-quiz-can-you-name-these-strikers/) took to Twitter on Wednesday night after the Hammers all but secured their place in the Europa League for next season.

Following the [3-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57082274) victory away at the Hawthorns against a Sam Allardyce managed West Brom side, the Irons stand on the brink of a [sixth-place](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) finish.

Anything but a draw will see the east Londoners enter the second-tier European competition next term – some achievement having [narrowly avoided relegation](https://talksport.com/football/734041/west-ham-all-but-secure-survival-win-watford/#:~:text=important-,West%20Ham%20all%20but%20secure%20Premier%20League%20survival%20thanks%20to,points%20against%20relegation%20rivals%20Watford&text=West%20Ham's%20place%20in%20the,against%20Watford%20on%20Friday%20night.) last season.

Cole, who played [267 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlton-cole/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/3179) for the club during his playing career, hailed the job done by David Moyes on [social media](https://twitter.com/CarltonCole1/status/1395132687120220166?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1395132687120220166%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsportslens.com%2Fcarlton-cole-lavishes-praise-on-david-moyes-after-west-ham-win%2F357192%2F).

> Twitter: What David Moyes has done for this club this season is nothing short of a bloody miracle. Well done @WestHam ![🙌🏾](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f64c-1f3fe.svg)![🙌🏾](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f64c-1f3fe.svg)![🙌🏾](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f64c-1f3fe.svg)![🙌🏾](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f64c-1f3fe.svg) (@CarltonCole1)

West Ham will face Southampton on Sunday at the London Stadium and will be cheered on by [10,000 members](https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/may/11-may/west-ham-united-welcomes-confirmation-return-our-supporters) of the Hammers faithful.

### READ WEST HAM VERDICT

Nobody could’ve predicted the turnaround in fortunes at the club this season – especially having [sold players](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-grady-diangana-west-brom-18m-a4540791.html) who were deemed key assets last summer.

Credit should go to Moyes and indeed the staff around him, not only for the improved performances but also for the [work done](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-ham-united/transfers/verein/379) in the transfer market.

Signings such as Vladimir Coufal, Craig Dawson and the loan deal of Jesse Lingard have all [played a huge part](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jesse-lingard/205508) in what has been a hugely successful 2020/21 campaign.

Now all that remains is to [tie the Scot down](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/david-moyes-west-ham-contract-b1849487.html) to a long-term new contract.
